ICAR–CIARI proudly launched the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Campaign, underscoring the urgent global need to safeguard the effectiveness of antibiotics for humans, animals, and the environment. Aligned with the international theme “Go Blue for AMR”, the institute reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible antimicrobial use and strengthening awareness among farmers, livestock owners, veterinary professionals, and the general public.
As part of the initiative, ICAR–CIARI emphasized scientific understanding, best management practices, and community participation to combat the rising challenge of antimicrobial resistance. The campaign encouraged all stakeholders to adopt preventive measures, follow good husbandry practices, and reduce unnecessary antibiotic usage.
During Antimicrobial Awareness Week (November 18–25), ICAR–CIARI teams actively reached out to various Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Departments located at Port Mout, Rangachan, Garacharma, and Goal Ghar.
The teams interacted with departmental staff and local communities, spreading key messages on AMR and distributing/displaying informative posters designed to improve public understanding of antimicrobial risks.
