The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CIARI), in collaboration with the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), successfully organized an awareness program on NABL accreditation at its Sri Vijayapuram campus.The event aimed to provide valuable insights into the process and significance of NABL accreditation, highlighting its benefits for academic institutions, industry professionals, regulatory bodies, and laboratory management. The program underscored the importance of adhering to international quality standards and compliance protocols essential for laboratory accreditation and quality assurance.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Srikanth R., Director, QCI-NABL Regional Office. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, who emphasized the role of quality systems in enhancing credibility and scientific output. A keynote address was presented by Mr. Sreeram Pinnamaraju, Assistant Director, QCI-NABL Regional Office, focusing on the accreditation process and its practical applications. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rafeeque R. Alyethodi, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIARI.
A total of 50 participants from various institutions across the Andaman Islands attended the program. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from stakeholders keen to strengthen laboratory practices and align them with national and international benchmarks.This initiative marks a significant step toward promoting quality, accountability, and global standards in scientific and industrial testing in the region.
