ICAR–Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI) has secured design registration for the “Dweep-Caprine Artificial Insemination Crate,” an indigenous innovation developed to strengthen goat breeding technologies. Designed using locally available materials, this cost-effective, user-friendly, and field-adapted crate provides safe and stress-free restraint for goats during artificial insemination procedures. The technology is expected to improve breeding efficiency, enhance animal welfare, and promote hygienic reproductive practices while supporting self-reliance in livestock breeding systems.
